“Stori Yangu”, premiere of a new show on DStv and GOtv, that features the lives of Kenyan celebrities including Caroline Mutoko, Jeff Koinange, Maina Kageni, Size 8, Nyota Ndogo, Bahati, Jua Cali among others. The show tells the stories of these individuals, the challenges and obstacles they had to overcome to get to where they are today, and show others that hard work pays.

This is Kenya in 2017 and to be honest, memes and social media savagery aside, the country needs inspiration and hope and the good peeps at Multichoice Kenya have listened and yesterday premiered for the first time ‘Stori Yangu’.

The show features the lives of Kenyan celebrities including Caroline Mutoko, Jeff Koinange, Maina Kageni, Size 8, Nyota Ndogo, Bahati, Jua Cali among others. The show tells the stories of these individuals, the challenges and obstacles they had to overcome to get to where they are today, and show others that hard work pays.

The first show featured John Kiarie popularly referred to as KJ and the invited celebrities, media and distinguished guests at Braeburn Theatres had a chance to relive the show even as it premiered on TV.

KJ and friends from Redykyulass who revoliutionised comedy gave the crowd a good laugh as they relived the good old comedy era of the 90s and friends who had a crazy creative idea to challenge the dictatorship rule of Nyayo.

KJ opens about suicide cases in his family, advertising, his love for cartoon, his political mission among many other heart touching stories that got the crowd on the edge of their seats.

A statement from Multichoice indicated the need “to create hope and inspiration through the Stori Yangu show that will air for the next 13 weeks.”

The premiere party launch at Braeburn saw great performances from Jua Cali, Size 8 aka Namba Nane, Bahati and Deno and Daddy Owen and was hosted by thespian, Ian Mbugua.

Catch Stori Yangu on Maisha Magic East, DStv channel 158 and GOtv channel 4 every Thursday from 8pm.
