South African Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017 kicked off on Tuesday 28th March 2017 at the Hyde Park Corner, Johannesburg. Designs by over 60 South African and International fashion designers and brands have been showcased throughout the five-day event. One of the highlights of the week included Woolworths highly-anticipated “StyleBySA” launch. The seasonal campaign showcased the work of the local fashion industry’s creative talents.

On the opening day, models presented various creations by talented designers. The lineup included Summerheart a Cape Town based swimwear line, designer Thebe Magugu‘s line, Keys Fashion and The Hive.

The second day of SA Fashion week showcased the perfect blend of fresh local and international designs. From street style to beauty to hand-painted silhouettes. The collections were sensational.

Chinese designer Chu Yan also showcased her collection titled “A Date with a Thousand Years” which was inspired by the Tang Dynasty of China. The collection was filled with traditional elements which revealed simple yet beautiful outfits. Yan was able to express the oriental art in a genius way.
Local celebrities also attended strutting their stuff on the red carpet. In attendance were rapper AKA, singer Kelly Khumalo, singer Lira, among others.
